The Manders Friesian Stud

Vicki Manders

Once again the Manders Friesian Stud from Essex have had their hard work and dedication rewarded at the annual FPS Inspection, this year held at Vale View Equestrian Centre, Leicestershire. Dean and Vicki, together with the “Manders Crew” travelled up with eight of their magnificent Friesian Horses on Friday 17th September to settle the horses in for the inspection on Saturday. In addition to the numerous bales of hay needed a plentiful supply of Lucie Nuts, Red Bag Grass Nuts and Instant Linseed were onboard! Despite the three hour drive, once settled in with a big bucket of grub, extra Linseed for shiny coats!, all horses looked very well and comfortable and it was perhaps Vicki and Dean that needed the Brewers Yeast that evening!! Manders Friesian Stud have bred the UK and Ireland Foal Champion for 2006/2007 and England Foal Champion 2009, was it too much to ask for another champion?? The continued careful breeding plan and plenty of the right grub did once again pay off, Eabel's filly, Hannie fan Withers Farm, received a 1st Premie and Champion Foal Title! Their filly Inneke Fan Withers Farm from thier Ster mare 'Omke' also recieved a 1st premie. The 2010 colt foal, Hotse Fan Withers Farm, was granted a 2nd Premie by their Ster mare Ietske S. The home bred 3 year old mare Ymke Fan Withers Farm was awarded her Ster Status. After the inspection they all received an extra portion of Lucie Nuts and Red Bag Grass Nuts! The studs’ stallion, Weird, was looked over by the Dutch Judges for his three year old inspection and was awarded a Ster. Weird was also put forward for the championship and was honoured with the Champion Stallion title. Weird is impeccably mannered at home and is turned out 24/7, much is due to his “Simple Feeding Regime” and the Brewers Yeast has been more than useful in his training!! Dean and Vicki of the Manders Friesian Stud spare no efforts with their work in the breeding programme and the 2010 Inspections results are just rewards, the feeds, Lucie Nuts, Red Bag Grass Nuts, Linseed, Brewer’s Yeast all go a long way in contributing to this success!! Thank you Simple System.
