Downhill Mischief - Tommy

Jim McCoosh

Tommy is a pony in a million! After being a successful Private Driving show pony we thought we would try our hand at Driving Trials. Tommy took to the challenge like a duck to water. After just one season we have moved up from pre-novice to novice pony. Ending the season on a high by winning our class in very good company, and also being the smallest pony at 12.2hh. He’s 18 years old but you would never think it to look at him. Tommy is, of course, fed entirely on Simple System. His muscle tone is superb, he’s always level-headed, (essential for a calm dressage and cones section), always has plenty of stamina for the marathon, excellent hooves which is very important as he works and competes totally barefoot and a fantastic shine to his coat. He still keeps his hand in with his showing – earlier this year travelling to the prestigious Tollymore Show where he once again proved that he can turn a hoof to anything by winning the Open Pony under 13.2hh Private Driving class (for the 2nd year running) then went on to win the timed cones driving event – what a star! I have three other driving ponies. Rudi, a hackney stallion with an amazing temperament; Snoopy, a 20 something Welsh Sec A who despite having cushings looks fantastic and the ‘new kid on the block’ Sam, another hackney and another star in the making. All are thriving on Simple System and I wouldn’t consider feeding anything else. In fact I was so impressed that I now supply the whole of Ireland with Simple System.
