Christmas!

16 December 2014

I can’t believe it was 8th October when I did my last blog, the time has flown by, with Christmas just a matter of days away.  So far we have been lucky with the weather this winter, the fields are still dry and the ground for hacking is good.  I am not sure we will get a white Christmas (hopefully not!) but here's hoping to a nice bright sunny day instead.

I am incredibly busy teaching at the moment (hence the delay in my blog) and with my horses, I am also trying hard to improve my rider fitness and strength which involves lots of running alongside strength and conditioning exercises most evenings after teaching.  I can see an improvement already and I am getting stronger in my core as well as improving my position.  I am seeing a sports physiotherapist once a month as well to keep my muscles in check and iron out any tension issues that I might have.

Jupiter has been amazing the last month, he's qualified for the Summer Regionals at Medium level already in just 3 tests – not bad for a 6yr old! He's currently having a week off and some TLC and then we will get going with working on flying changes over Christmas before preparation for the Regionals starts in January.   Blossom and Paris are both well, Bloss is enjoying her life of hacking with a little schooling thrown in every now and again and Paris is just enjoying doing nothing but being a baby! I think its so important that youngsters have time to mature and grow and aren’t pushed too hard when they are young.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and here's to a fabulous 2015!
