Sissy, a 7/8 TB/ID cross, was my companion from 1996 until 2019. She carried me astride and side saddle on many wonderful rides. Our favourite time was our summer break on Exmoor ‘home turf’ with long rides across the moors.
Throughout her life she enjoyed Simple System feeds, from Blue Bag Grass Pellets, Organic Lucie Stalks, Timothy Chop, Lucie Brix, Lunar Eclipse and Pure Ocean Seaweed in her younger years, to Lucie Fibre Cubes with FlexiBalance and Organic Cider Vinegar added as she grew older.
Cameroon, my 14.2 cob cross (now a still-grumpy but much-loved 24-year-old), has also been raised on Simple System feeds since he was five.
These days he enjoys HayCare, Meadow Forage Pellets and MetaSlim- and, as a bit of an equine gourmet, he loves trying different forages.
If my horses had a vote for their favourite treat, it would undoubtedly be Lucie Mints.
