Sovereign

Sov is a 26 yo PBA and has always been a Good Doer until the last few years when the bad winters/ poor summer grazing have really taken their toll. I had been feeding him haylage, which he didn't really eat much of, Sugar beet, Conditioning cubes and Senior Fibre. He was fed his bucket feed right through the summer, but still didn't put any weight on, so by Autumn I was getting concerned for the Winter. I switched to Simple System Feeds at the suggestion of a friend who had heard good feedback about it, and within 2 weeks the difference in his movement was incredible. He is walking much more freely and can hold his legs up for the blacksmith to trim his toes - which he hasn't been able to do for years! 6 weeks on he looks great! I was concerned I might have to cut his night time Hay replacement bucket down as he was in danger of getting fat!! but he seems to have decided himself he no longer needs as much so I have cut back a bit! At night he has been having: 1 scoop of Lucie Nuts, 1 scoot of Blue Bag Grass Pellets, 2 scoops of PuraBeet and his Total Eclipse. I have also been throwing in a bit of Timothy Chop so it resembles hay, but this is more for my benefit than his! I have attached a before and after pic, he has been retired for about 4 years now hence the lack of muscle, but he really has gained a whole new lease of life - I am delighted with the results!
