Rufus

Sue Saward

Rufus is a half brother to Morland's Totilas, the most famous dressage horse in the world right now. They both have the same sire, Gribaldi, who was known for not being the easiest horse to ride but was supremely talented. Rufus went through years of being difficult to train and then had a long bout with illness which left him with poll damage and head shaking. I thought I was going to have to put him down so many times but I kept trying everything. Now with loads of turn out and simple system feed, he seems to have turned a corner. He is much quieter and more trainable and is doing some lovely work. I am hoping to be able to take him out competing again soon and to do our first Advanced Medium. He is working on his three time tempi changes and canter half passes and loves his work!
