Juggling Act

15 August 2013

Apologies for the delay in my latest blog, I have been extremely busy juggling work, horses, teaching, judging and training.  I quite often get asked how I fit in having a 35hr a week job, 3 horses on DIY, teaching, judging, training and competing – the answer to that is I honestly don’t know!! However I am incredibly organised and I plan each week on Sunday evenings; what horses I am riding at what time, who I am teaching and where (I teach both at my yard and at other yards) and any other commitments such as judging, judge training and my own training and competing.  If I am really busy I quite often ride Jupiter before work, so I aim to have them all caught in and be on and riding by 5:30am.

I now have another horse to add into the mix (!), a lovely chestnut 4yr old that belongs to my yard owner.  I will be schooling and hacking him over the winter with the aim to do some dressage on him once he is ready. I have also got a super mare coming in for sale shortly – with these extra 2 my schedule will be even stricter than normal!  But where there's a will there's a way and I am a firm believer in dedication getting you where you want to be.

There is definitely an Autumn feel in the air now too, the horses are still out at night but are in their middle weight rugs and there is a real chill first thing in the morning, along with the notable lack of daylight at 5am!

Jupiter has been working well and will be out at elementary level hopefully at the end of September, which I am looking forward to.  Although challenging at times he is extremely talented and I am excited about what the future holds for him.   Blossom has now started hacking work in walk and seems to be enjoying doing a little something every now and again.
