Can horses cope with sudden cold weather?
Horses can survive and even thrive in what we consider to be very inhospitable conditions, but they do need plenty of feed to fuel them and keep them warm.
High temperatures continue to cause havoc for some of our horses. In warm weather, their temperature, breathing and heart rate go up, they may scour or look slightly colicky and will be disinclined to do very much and if asked to move, may look a bit wobbly.
