Chops / chaffs for variety in the horses diet

Variety in the diet is important for horses - just as it is for humans! When choosing your chop / chaff, consider the whole of the diet. For example, if your horse has predominantly grass feeds, such as hay or soaked grass pellets, choose a lucerne chop for variety to support those good gut microbes.
At Simple System we have a range of chops available to suit a variety of nutritional profiles. All of which are free from molasses, cereals, straw, additives and preservatives.
Here's a brief overview of the range...
Perform & Shine | A blend of two grass types (cocksfoot and Timothy) with a coating of fresh cold pressed linseed oil. This is our highest energy chop, ideal for hard working competition horses, but not suitable for those prone to laminitis.
Build & Shine | Our highly popular lucerne chop with fresh cold pressed linseed oil. Ideal for medium and harder working horses, including those prone to ulcers.
LucieChop | An uncoated, 100% pure lucerne chop, rich in protein and calcium. Suitable for feeding soaked or dampened.
Timothy Chop | 100% Timothy grass, harvested at a mature stage for naturally high fibre and low sugar. Suitable for good doers.
Organic Lucie Stalks | Our lowest calorie chopped forage, ideal for good doers and those with metabolic issues. 100% sieved lucerne, meaning the more calorific leaf has been removed, leaving the high fibre 'stalk' of the plant.
Tip | Simple System Brix are also a convenient way of feeding a portion of chop to add variety and enrichment. These 1kg forage blocks are available in three key ingredients; grass (MeadowBrix), lucerne (Lucie Brix) and sainfoin (Sainfoin Brix).
