Q. How do you feed MetaSlim?
A. We suggest soaking MetaSlim in 2 times the volume of water if you are feeding it as a short feed. It is quick-soaking, taking around 10 minutes. If, like in our video below, you are feeding with a chop, simply add MetaSlim, dampen and stir. If feeding with a soaked forage pellet, simply add and stir.
Q. Do I need to use MetaSlim all year round? A. MetaSlim was formulated to aid metabolic horses and is most beneficial when fed long-term as part of a calorie controlled diet.
Q. I don't know which forage pellet to feed alongside MetaSlim - can you help?
A. Lucie Fibre Cubes are our most recommended feed for overweight or metabolic horses as they offer the fewest calories. They are high in fibre, low in sugar and starch and contain essential vitamins and minerals. You can also consider feeding a forage chop alongside MetaSlim and/or Lucie Fibre Cubes. Organic Lucie Stalks are very low calorie, and they are an ideal option for bulking out the feed bowl. This extends eating time, encourages saliva production and helps to satisfy horses with good appetites.
Q. How much does MetaSlim cost per day?
A. MetaSlim costs £1.80 per day to feed, with a 20kg bag lasting 40 days. NB. these calculations are based on the larger 20kg bag and when feeding an average 500kg horse at the recommended rate.
